Olugbenga Sonde, ACA is a Chartered Accountant and experienced finance professional with over 10 years of professional experience in taxation, accounting, financial management, internal control, business analysis, financial reporting, investment analysis and regulatory compliance. He is the Lead Consultant at GSA Professional Services & Consulting, where he provides professional tax, accounting, financial and business advisory services to SMEs, entrepreneurs and corporate organisations.
His professional experience spans tax administration, accounting, internal audit, investment and securities, banking and corporate finance, giving him a well-rounded understanding of the financial and regulatory challenges businesses face. At GSA Professional Services & Consulting, he provides tax consulting, compliance and advisory services, including tax planning, VAT, WHT, PAYE and corporate tax compliance. He also supports clients with tax audits, reconciliations, regulatory engagements, financial reviews, internal control advisory, compliance assessments and CAC statutory obligations.
Prior to his current role, Olugbenga served as Head of Finance and Accounts at Fundsworth Finance Company Limited, where he was responsible for financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, working capital management, budgeting and forecasting, internal controls, cost management, regulatory reporting and statutory tax compliance. He also provided financial information and analysis to management to support strategic business decisions.
He previously worked as an Accountant at Mountain Investment & Securities Ltd, where he gained significant experience in financial reporting, taxation, regulatory compliance, investment analysis, securities forecasting and financial risk assessment. His responsibilities included preparing financial statements, tax returns and regulatory reports, analysing investment opportunities and providing financial insights to support profitability and investment decisions.
Earlier in his career, he worked as an Internal Audit Associate at Laterna Ventures Limited, where he developed practical expertise in financial reconciliation, transaction reviews, customer account investigations, stock control and internal control processes. He also served as a Tax Officer with the Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS), gaining first-hand experience in tax assessment, taxpayer compliance, tax reviews and desk and field audits.
His earlier accounting and banking experience further strengthened his foundation in financial record-keeping, reconciliations, internal controls, transaction processing and financial administration.
Olugbenga is an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Customer Relationship Management (CICRM) and an Associate Member of the Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria (ISMN). He has undertaken additional professional training in financial planning and budgeting, liquidity and balance sheet management, VAT, partnership assessment, tax computation and compliance, financial statement reading, financial analysis and data science.
